Our participation and co-sponsorship of
Madison Nonprofit Day provided us with an invaluable experience. The connections, the insights, the energy were all positively motivating. So when looking for ideas to explore and issues to align MadTech with, the ability to go back to
'Things Learned From Madison Nonprofit Day' was easy. There were a number of potentially actionable items that came out of Madison Nonprofit Day. And we'v…

Fresh from the success of

Update: 17 June 2009
*Where We Are At…*
We're rapidly approaching the end of the first month of organizing and planning for August's Madison Nonprofit Day; so now is an appropriate time to assess where we are at and where we need to be. First off, the word is spreading and people, nonprofits, and business are very interested in Nonprofit Day. This is all happening before our official press release, save the date, and approach to recruit organizers, participants, sponsors, and dono…

This is a follow-up message to those who were planning on attending Wednesday's 'Planning Madison's Nonprofit Day'.
The planning period for Madison's first Nonprofit Day has kicked off. The first meeting was held, Wednesday, 20 May at the Goodman Community Center. We're sorry you weren't able to make it, but no fears. The bulk of planning for the August 21 event will be done online, so you can participate, even if you can't make the face to face meetings.
To that regard, the following decision…

Thanks to everyone who came to Wednesday's presentation; but acknowledge that bad weather and ailments kept quite a few of you away. Trust me, when I say, I would have stayed home if I wasn't giving the presentation.
That said, the topic generated quite a lot of interest, and got me thinking that whenever possible, MadTech should make materials and information available from the meetings as part of a public archive. To that effort, here are links to the various components of the talk:

The Wisconsin Nonprofits Association is working on redoing its website.
Can anyone recommend a Drupal programmer who would be willing and able to
Work with a volunteer redesign team
Integrate an as-yet-to-be-chosen CRM
Work with a web designer
We have an RFP, site plan, and time line developed already - but the above list is the highlights.
We expect to pay for this service.
Here's hoping our magician is out there ... Elaine

I should have took pictures. There's was a nice crowd at the January MadTech. And a good time was had by all (unless they dispute me). We shared chips, salsa and seafood soup while discussing an array of things. Items that I can recall are the
Madison Twestival for
Charity: Water coming on 12 February. Amy of
Urban League Greater Madison future move and how that relates to the…

The January Meeting is tonight, Wednesday, 21 Jan at 6pm. This will primarily be a meet & greet (aka social) meeting. To honor the New Year, and to invite more people to participate; I figured a casual, more social event could start the year.
I'll host the event at my apartment, which is just down the street from our semi-regular location at Goodman Atwood Community Center. Food and beverages provided. Please feel free to invite a friend. I'll have flyers for the February Meet. The February…
