Who I Am

Hello! My name is Alnisa Allgood. I'm the Executive Director for Nonprofit Tech. I'm pretty much a tech generalist. I do print, web, databases, system admin, network admin, social media, digital data, tech support, training, presentations, and more.

I spend most of my time these days on: Web Design & Development. I primarily use MAMP/LAMP (Mac OS X, Linux, Apache, MySQL, & PHP). My favorite tools are: Expression Engine, Transmit, BBEdit, MacSQL, PHPMyAdmin. Database Design & Admin. FileMaker Pro and MySQL. I have favorite plug-ins, and code-bases, but those are the two tools. Research & Technology Transfer. How to use technology? What technology to use? How to reduce disruption of new technologies, etc., etc. Tech Support & Remote Admin. I also do a lot of tech support, and remote admin of servers and services.

I did know about the meeting, Erica Laughlin, my supervisor told us all about it at ITA. I do not think I can make it, but thank you for the warm welcoming.

Peace,

Alnisa-

I'm a student at UW-Madison working on a project with Randy Stoecker, Katherine Loving, and Eric Howland of DaneNet. This fall we're running our pilot program of providing education and working with nonprofits on their technology.

I'll be in attendance at the meeting and I am looking forward to meeting everyone and learning more about this group. Thanks!

Not a problem Alnisa, whatever way is easiest for your org to access and organise the information! Open Source seemed the best fit at the moment to place the Atlassian products. If you ever need any more info just let me know. Best of luck with the website.

So when looking for ideas to explore and issues to align MadTech with, the ability to go back to 'Things Learned From Madison Nonprofit Day' was easy. There were a number of potentially actionable items that came out of Madison Nonprofit Day. And we'v… Continue

Update: 17 June 2009

*Where We Are At…*
We're rapidly approaching the end of the first month of organizing and planning for August's Madison Nonprofit Day; so now is an appropriate time to assess where we are at and where we need to be. First off, the word is spreading and people, nonprofits, and business are very interested in Nonprofit Day. This is all happening before our official press release, save the date, and approach to recruit organizers, participants, sponsors, and dono… Continue

Planning Madison's Nonprofit Day

This is a follow-up message to those who were planning on attending Wednesday's 'Planning Madison's Nonprofit Day'.

The planning period for Madison's first Nonprofit Day has kicked off. The first meeting was held, Wednesday, 20 May at the Goodman Community Center. We're sorry you weren't able to make it, but no fears. The bulk of planning for the August 21 event will be done online, so you can participate, even if you can't make the face to face meetings.

To that regard, the following decision… Continue
