Group Goals

I'm interested in talking to anyone who has worked with or is interested in workin with using QR Codes. My primary interest is in as a method to rapidly add events to an event calendar. But I'm also interested in exploring other uses. Like the City of Manor, Texas initiatives and efforts to use QR-Codes to make government information more accessible.

My primary focus is the iPhone and iCal. I already have a solution working that can take users to a landing page of an event. Which is cool. But ultimately, what I'd like is for the .ics file to be auto added to iCal or to create an RSS feed of a single event that can be subscribed to.

I'm looking to reduce user work load, massively.

My original solution was to scan flyers in via iPhone, then if I remembered to go back and review and add events to my calendar. My next solution was the current one, if event has a QR-Code scan event in, I'm taken to event web page on iPhone. Except the details still aren't added to my calendar.

Ideal solution would be scan event, get .ics file, be prompted to add to my calendar.
