MadTech

Friends,

I found MadTech through Open Everything.

I finished my PhD at UW in 2003, and I am pleased to see the progress in Open Culture since the time I left. I'm now in the Kansas City area, Missouri. You may be interested in our work.

As far as we know, we are a unique experiment at reinventing the entire infrastructure of communities – in what is known as the Global Village Construction Set. We are also the only group that we know of who is actively developing Open Business Models in physical production, in a facility that also tests these business models first hand.

We have initiated the First World Conference on Open Source Ecology, where we are developing the technology and ecology tools for post-industrial settlements. I would like to ask any of you to consider attending - and help us recruit other participants.

If you can’t make it to the conference, consider supporting this very important work by subscribing to the 1000 True Fans campaign - http://openfarmtech.org/weblog/?p=458

We are taking this work very seriously, because of its potential. If you have suggestions on our work and approach, please share them. Can you recommend others who may be interested? We believe that this work can gain immense momentum - the trick is to get out a clear message - which we just started to do.

Sincerely,
Marcin

Hi Marcin. I'm planning to summarize, to make sure I understand. Basically, the Open Source Ecology Conference is a participatory event, where attendees plan their own projects and coordinate their length of stay to the project they will work on? Is that correct? So it's more like each participant would have an interesting science or farming project; and Open Farm would provide the opportunity to complete the research?

I'm trying to get a nice summary so I can share with Facebook and Twitter followers.

Hi Alnisa. Yes, people plan projects, congruent with the Global Village Construction Set (GVCS) as described in the Distillllations. The recommended length of stay is one month. We then go over the project together with the applicant to make sure that it is consistent with the GVCS goals. Thanks for passing on the message.
