DESCRIPTION:<i>One day to celebrate another year of service.</i> Local
  organizers have announced a day of education and celebration to bring
  the people who work for nonprofit organizations, the public they serv
 e and the greater community together to discover, connect, celebrate a
 nd raise awareness about their work on <u>Friday, August 21.</u>\n\nN
 onprofits, businesses and community members from the Greater Madison a
 rea will take part in various workshops, neighborhood tours, speakers,
  and other activities as part of the first annual Madison Nonprofit Da
 y. Madison's renowned Goodman Community Center, located at 149 Waubes
 a St. will host a majority of the day's events and activities. Other a
 ctivities will occur city wide.\n\nThe daylong event will include work
 shops and seminars for nonprofit professionals and volunteers as well 
 as a keynote speaker that will discuss contemporary issues facing loca
 l and national nonprofits. A variety of activities will provide entert
 aining ways for community members to learn more about Madison's nonpro
 fit sector will also be offered, including everything from Neighborhoo
 d Nonprofit Tours to short films and informal meet-and-greets to class
 room-style learning sessions on a broad range of topics.\n\nMadison ha
 s a vibrant, multi-faceted nonprofit sector that significantly contrib
 utes to the health and well-being of the region — socially and econo
 mically. The goal is to celebrate and raise awareness about Madison's
